A jaw-dropping PS5 Pro graphics upgrade is incoming, and a surprising new God of War game is closer than you think!
There’s a new God of War game arriving much earlier than we had anticipated! Video Game Chronicle says there is a new Greece project debuting this year. Rumors about this have supposedly been circulating on the street for some time. Initially, viewers believed it could only be a reissued compilation of the older God of War games to mark the series’ 20th anniversary. But no, it appears it is really a new side narrative.
While Sony shut down God of War Remaster rumors, Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb let the cat out, saying this is not a remaster but rather something new that is still located in Greece. The show started with Greek myths before changing to Norse material with the 2018 reboot. Even though the director Cory Barlog said he didn’t intend another trilogy following Ragnarök, the ending certainly opened up possibilities for further tales.
Grubb went digging whenever everyone asked about this. He said there’s a Greek God of War initiative arriving this year, but it’s not a group of older games. Oh, and Grubb isn’t the only one speaking. Tom Henderson mentioned the same thing on their podcast; they said it could center on Kratos’ relationship with Zeus.

Initially, it appeared strange because we already had six games in the entire Greek myth. Unless it is a remake, why would you return? But now I’m thinking… what if it’s a time travel thing? Maybe Kratos goes back to reboot his life in Greece, somewhat like God of War Ragnarök: Valhalla DLC. Except this would probably be shorter, like a smaller spinoff—a “Miles Morales” scale game.
If this is so, maybe they will somehow let us see young Kratos once more by sending him back in time or dropping him into his younger body. Scratch that, not so. Who can say? It’s only a theory, but it may be a great means of retelling some of the Greek narrative without disturbing what has already been produced.
