Startenders is an indie game where you play as a bartender… In space… For aliens…
Startenders is an interesting one in the world of gaming. Of course VR continues it’s mighty crescendo as each game seems to provide new and interesting ways to utilise the very fascinating technology. Every VR game takes a somewhat unique spin, whatever that spin may be. Startenders is no different.
Foggy Box Games clearly created this project with every little detail in mind. The game oozes with style and seems more mechanically complex than one might have suspected. The developers dropped an announcement trailer on their official twitter:
In the trailer we se a variety of alien creatures and because of this… alien drinks. This accompanied with the music of the trailer seems to evoke what can only be a completely fun and somewhat ludicrous experience.
This is VR, so players will have a certain amount of freedom to be able to do things that they want, the best example being throwing stuff, which is one of the first things you see in the trailer. In addition to that, the game includes upgrades for your ‘Barship’ which will no doubt allow you to experiment with new concoctions, cocktails and variations of space bartending.
Startenders is releasing March 17th on MetaQuestVR and PlayStation VR.
This year has already kicked off with news and game releases. This month alone is already clustered with new releases and there is more, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting an optimised update for next gen consoles. In addition to this Battlefield 2042 fans have signed a petition to attempt to get a refund for the game. All this news and more is available on GamesCreed.
