343 Industries could be working on a Halo new project thanks to online employee information.
The Studio behind Halo Infinite, 343 Industries, could be working on a brand new project which has yet to be shown off publically. The video game developer, who is both a subsidiary of Xbox Game Studios and Microsoft, has quite far since it’s humble beginnings working on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary way back in 2011, so it’s exciting to see what else the studio has in-store for gamers.
Despite its rather positive reception when it first launched in 2021 , the most recent entry in the Halo franchise, Halo: Infinite has seen a huge decrease in players, with the game roughly losing around 98% of its players on Steam. Due to this, many players are worried as to where the next entry will take the franchise. Luckily, it would seem that 343 Industries has something interesting in the works, and we will hopefully learn more about this upcoming project in the near future.
The first glimpse we got of this project, came from an employee LinkedIn page, which says that currently 343 Industries is working on “an unannounced internal project” This curious bit of information was first spotted by Twitter user Timur222, and the profile in question belongs to Ben F, who was a former project manager at 343 Industries. His profile goes into detail about some of the work he has done for the company such as roadmap development for this internal project. This project could be connected to the rumors that a new Halo game is in the works and would make sense considering the developers past experience.
However, as exciting as the news that we could be getting a new Halo game, it should be noted that many players have argued that due to the current state of Halo: Infinite, the franchise may be in need of a reset. Could this project be the reset in question? We will have to wait and see. Considering that the employee left sometime in January 2023, it is likely that this internal project is still very early in development. Either way it’s good to hear that things aren’t quite finished for the Halo franchise.
