After your first encounter at The Map Chamber mission, this chapter is where you will unlock many of the game’s systems. You will be attending classes as per usual while you wait for Professor Fig to return with the book needed to understand Ancient Magic properly. During this chapter, you will also learn of quicker ways of exploring the world around you, as well as the customizable Room of Requirement.
Flying Class
You will start this class off by summoning your broom, similar to the iconic scene in the first Harry Potter movie, this will only happen for this class. After Kogawa has finished demonstrating, follow the on-screen prompt. Afterward, Kogawa will ask you to complete a flying course.
There is no time limit on this flying course, so you will be able to take as long as you need to get the hang of your broom and the flying controls. This first course is just meant to familiarize you with flying and the next course will take you around the school grounds.
You will meet Ravenclaw student Everett Clopton, they will suggest you take a detour in order to explore the castle more. Everett will also teach you how to boost your broom in order to go even faster when flying. Your fun detour will get interrupted when Kogawa ends the course.
Go to Seventh Floor Corridor to meet Professor Weasley
Professor Weasley will ask you to meet her so she can show them a place where they can practice their spells in peace. You will arrive before the professor and accidentally open up the Room of Requirement.
The room is currently being used as storage for many long-lost and forgotten magic items, which are mostly easter eggs from the films. When the professor arrives and will offer to teach you the spell, Evanesco. This will allow players to vanish objects, such as a large pile of chairs that are currently blocking your path. Complete the minigame and you will be rewarded with some Moonstones.
You continue onwards as the professor gets distracted by her old school bag. Vanish the next pile of chairs and use Accio to pull out a box behind it, so you can use it as a platform to climb up to reach a chest.
Continue forward and vanish yet another pile of chairs and duck through the gap and continue straight until a portrait suggests you, “Summon Your Wits and Find Out.” This is the quest for Everett Clopton.
Pull the box out that’s on the right-hand side of the portrait out of the way and enter the space behind them. Move the box on the left from where you came in so the box is against the wooden fence. Head back to the portrait and bring the box with the chest on it towards you, it will be on the left side of the portrait.
Use Levioso on the chest box and head back where you were previously, use Accio so the chest box is hovering above the fence box. Finally, head back to the box that was blocking your way in pull it through the gap, cast Levioso on it, and climb up on top of that box to reach the chest.
Continue and you will meet Deek, the House Elf. Professor Weasley and Deek will transform the room so it’s better for studying. The professor will then teach you how to customize the room in a tutorial segment.
Learning a Curse
You will end this chapter by learning some forbidden magic. Sebastian will show us a hidden room, the Undercroft, where we can practice the dark arts to our heart’s content, away from the prying eyes of both professors and students.
Sebastian will explain he found this place thanks to his friend Ominis Gaunt. He then says it would be better if you didn’t tell Ominis that he showed you this place and that you should keep it between the two of you. Sebastian will then teach you Confringo, a long-distance fire blast.
Once you complete the minigame players will be tasked with lighting some candle stands to show that they understand the spell. Sebastian will then open up and suggest you meet his sister sometimes.
Once you leave, you will immediately bump into Ominis Gaunt, who will assume that Sebastian told you about the Undercroft and is, understandably, very upset. You can try to convince him that Sebastian is innocent.
