Borderlands film trailer reveals chaos and a talkative claptrap voiced by Jack Black.
Directed by Eli Roth, the Borderlands movie adaptation promises a film with explosive action and a talkative claptrap, an Iconic character in the video game. The film features several characters from the popular game series, featuring the same names from Gearbox Software. However, this adaptation follows a whole new storyline which involves the search for Atlas’ daughter.
Following the release of the first official trailer for the film sets the rhythm of “Do Ya” by the Electric Light Orchestra, the trailer follows Lilith as she teams up with Claptrap, Tiny Tina, Kreig, Roland, and Tannis, all major iconic characters in the game series. They set off to search for a massive treasure inside a hidden secret vault on the most dangerous and wackiest dumpster fire of a planet known as Pandora.
Although the official synopsis would suggest that the Borderlands film will follow a mission to find Atlas’ daughter, the trailer also reveals the essence of the game itself whereas outlaws unite to find treasure on Pandora. In essence, the film adaptation’s trailer also proves faithfulness to the Video Games franchise. Starting with the recreation of the characters, including Blanchett as the infamous outlaw, the Siren, Lilith.
The trailer also succeeds in revealing the chaos and irreverent tone of the games, all while remaining light-hearted, this would be thanks to comedians like Hart playing the role of elite mercenary Roland and Jack Black who will be providing the voice of an iconic, somewhat crazy, somewhat annoyingly wise-assed robot named, Claptrap. Alongside iconic characters, the film also seems to recreate several vehicles, weapons, and creatures from the game series.
In the end, the First Borderlands film trailer is an exciting start of introduction to the film sparking both excitement and curiosity in regards to bringing the hostile and weird world of Pandora to life in a live-action setting, with major actors of comedy and with so much to draw from in terms of lore this movie is bound to meet the expectations of fans and new audiences.
