Bob Marley: One Love, the biopic about the musician, has beat out Madame Web and more for the weekend box.
Bob Marley: One Love is the latest in the biopic musician films. It’s seeing a great run at the box office, as it’s had back-to-back winning weekends at the box office. It’s had some exciting competition with Madame Web, Drive-away Dolls, and the new Demon Slayer anime film.
Bob Marley: One Love has also crossed the $100 million mark at the box office, a feat accomplished within 10 days in theaters. The reviews are good as well. It seems that this film is doing well, while Madame Webb is doing horribly. Months ago, the prediction was that Madame Web would seemingly dominate the box office. But Madame Web is slouching at the box office and doing terribly in reviews, while Bob Marley: One Love is doing the opposite in both respects.
In the film’s first six days, it made $51 million at the box office, which is one of the best music biopic openings. Madame Web only got $26 million. Madame Web is currently barely in the top five at the box office. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba—To The Hashira Training is looking at a solid second-place mark at the box office this weekend, beating out Madame Web and others.
We shall see how these films do when a slam-packed March comes. We have plenty of new films on the horizon, such as Dune Part 2 and the new Godzilla x Kong film. A lot of this is because of the timing of the strike. Usually, there are a lot more films at the box office at this time of year, but since there was a strike last year, many films did not get to come out on time, and we’re delayed, like Dune Part 2. But March promises to be a great month for movies.
