Is Marvel looking to rekindle an old flame?
Marvel has been receiving a mixed reception lately. Many of my friends who were obsessed with the franchise seemed to have slowly lost interest and no longer discussed it in bulk like they normally would several years ago. However, it is rather pleasant to see their heroes still going at it to reignite an extinguished flame within their community.
In only two weeks, Marvel will be holding its panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, where they will unveil all of their developments and plans for the MCU. A trustworthy source broke their silence and spilled the beans on all the rumored announcements that were to take place at the San Diego Comi-Con. It is crucial to remember that things might change or the information could be entirely false.
Bearing all that in mind, this insider has said that the San Diego Comic-Con will be the site of a major announcement: the production of a Scarlet Witch Solo film. The film will not hit theaters until 2028, but the news will be huge. This will be a major assurance that Wanda is still active in the MCU, as many have speculated that she did not die in the Multiverse of Marvel since that little red blip somehow managed to escape the destruction at the conclusion of the Multiverse Madness.
There has been no casting disclosure, but this might be a major project with Scarlet Witch; rumor has it that we will be seeing the logo for the X-Men film in the MCU soon. It is probable that we could receive some details on the release date of this film, but that will probably be about it.
The individual has also hinted that Marvel’s Doctor Strange 3 would be introduced soon, along with a new logo and, maybe, a title that includes more than just the number 3. The sequence in Multiverse of Madness after the credits roll, when his third eye opens and he sees Clea, is so shocking that I cannot wait for further information.
It has been suggested that Marvel’s announcement of Thor 5 would coincide with the highly anticipated news of a new filmmaker joining the series, taking over from Taika Waititi. I still believe Taika Waititi is one of the strongest directors working presently; Ragnarök is a fantastic film. The majority of people, meanwhile, are eagerly anticipating the announcement of his replacement so that they may switch things up and finally give Thor the sort of Logan-esque send-off he sorely deserves. It has the potential to be spectacular.
The reveal of Shang Chi 2, with a probably different moniker than the number two, is what is really going to be fascinating. Three long years after the first Shang Chi, people are looking forward to finally seeing the logo and, gossip has it, hearing when it will be released. I would love to see that character again before the next Avengers movie, and therefore am hoping it is released within a year or two.
We have some major news on the two forthcoming Marvel Avengers films since we are on the subject of the Avengers lineup. The first piece of news is that the director and writer of Avengers Secret Wars will most likely also be involved with the next Avengers 5 film. We will probably not learn whether Kings is truly going to be recast in the MCU until after San Diego Comic-Con since they have publicly said that they would not reveal anything about the plot involving him.
It seems that Armor Wars has been in production indefinitely with no meaningful updates, but the leaker claims that we may soon be receiving a new logo and, who knows, maybe even a release date. In addition, word got out that Blade would be postponed once more. Marvel’s production of this film seems to be doomed at this point in time and it would just be a tragedy if they postpone it evermore.
We will also possibly get our first glimpse of the Vision Quest TV show’s logo and, perhaps, the basis for it. At the San Diego Comic-Con, attendees will be able to see a unique peek and exclusive teaser for the Thunderbolts movie. It will likely be months before we get an image of the special look from Marvel since these items are only displayed behind closed doors and no recording is permitted.
The whole Fantastic 4 ensemble will be on stage together, stirring the audience with comments on the film and, likely, their involvement behind the scenes. Notably absent from this compilation are some major projects, such as Marvel’s Spider-Man 4, which the MCU is anticipating to release no later than 2025 or 2026 due to Sony’s intense desire to release it. If we fail to see it during the San Diego Comic-Con, it is probably because Sony usually releases these things on their own terms and with their own trailer, rather than following Walt Disney Studio’s lead.
Also lacking from this data set was any mention of the Young Avengers, a group that would include Wanda’s children, K. Bishop, Miss Marvel, and others. All of these actors will eventually mature, so you cannot have this ten years later if you are developing a Young Avengers Movie, so although they were not mentioned in the leaks, I still think this will be confirmed and released much sooner than most people are expecting.
Personally, I am looking forward to receiving these confirmations from Marvel, as I do miss a certain array of actors playing certain characters dearly, ahem, Tom Hiddleston. I will keep the hope of the superhero frenzy coming back alive, as there was something different about the air back when everyone used to plunge into chaos to get movie tickets. I will also most definitely tune in for Deadpool and Wolverine. Until then, folks.
