There is talk about a major announcement, and many hope it will contain clues about what will be happening in The Sims 5.
As many of you may already know, The Sims 5 is coming. However, there has been no release date, and there are no hints as to how much time it may take. Maxis and EA have been exceptionally mysterious about what to expect. Because Sims 4 continues to be successful through the years, Maxis and EA have had the gift of time handed to them. Content and updates are still created for The Sims 4, keeping everyone distracted while they work on the next generation of Sims.
You can count on them to continue to enhance the graphics of The Sims 5 while also adding more building features. More skill sets and creativity for the sims are likely to be added to the game. You may have a Sim that will be able to take old outfits and make new ones out of them, or you may have more tattoo options and be able to go to a tattoo shop. Perhaps they will carry over the experiences with wizards, zombies, werewolves, Star Wars, etc., Or they will make all-new worlds, such as elaborate alien planets like Sixam.
If you are unfamiliar with Sixam, it is a hidden alien planet in The Sims 4 Careers, where your Sim becomes an astronaut and visits an alien planet. The options for The Sims 5 seem endless. However, there is the rolling theme of inclusivity, and this has drawn more fans in, as well as bringing old ones back.
Maxis and EA want to continue being inclusive, and there are rumors that there will be nonbinary Sim options and disability options for The Sims 5. Fans who want more representation in the game have requested this numerous times, and Maxis has goals to fulfill these wishes. They have successfully made Sims 4 more inclusive than ever before with various skin colors and the ability to add more detail to facial features and weight, and they brought in some transgender as well as asexual options.
The Sims 5 will likely continue to add variety to this and include more of the height spectrum rather than all Sims of the same age being the same height. They will also likely add to how alien you may want your Sim to look with more hair and skin options since the inhuman aspect of The Sims 4 became extremely popular.
The pattern for this franchise is that these characters continue to become more relatable, but they also give you the opportunity to explore other lifestyles if desired. This means that The Sims 5 might allow you to see them in their workplace with 3D gameplay showcasing memorable moments. If your Sim has an interesting career, you might get to see big moments in action. Toddlers may come back, and this would allow you to raise your Sim from infancy to old age. You can watch those milestones that they hit throughout their life with the 3D gameplay.
A couple of things that would be a game changer for Sims 5 include a shift for realistic allotted time and multitasking. Maxis understands how unrealistic it is for a Sim to eat for two or more hours, so this time could be shortened for the next generation. Imagine your Sim sitting down with a coffee and reading a book or eating a snack while playing video games. This will allow Sims to reach more goals in a shorter amount of time.
A feature that fans really want is the ability to drive cars. There has been no news for sure on whether or not this will be implemented in The Sims 5, but the developers truly want to bring something exciting to the table in the Sims world. You may be able to see your Sims hop onto a bus, jump in a taxi, or get in their car when going somewhere. There are hopeful fans that this could be available along with open-world designs like those in The Sims 3.
The problem with open worlds is that they might become challenging for Maxis because they may not fit into the framework of what Sims has become and could cause performance issues that take away from the experience. To be able to have all the luxuries that the creators have brought to the table, bringing back the open world might be complicated, but not totally impossible.
The biggest rumor surrounding The Sims 5 is multiplayer. There are whispers of concern about the idea of multiplayer happening. There is wonderment when thinking about how they would make this possible and enjoyable without sacrificing the solo aspect. Building worlds with friends has potential as it adds a more social aspect to the game, but what would happen if one person is not in the world as often as the other person? The differing frequency of plays could result in everyone’s Sims continuing to age, and this could limit the amount of time a player may have with their Sims if they play less. Perhaps they already have a solution for this.
There is talk about a major announcement, and many hope it will contain clues about what will happen in Sims 5. This will happen on October 18th, 2022, and this stream will be called “Behind The Sims Summit.” While it may be mostly about their free-to-play base game, it is said that they will make a huge announcement in the stream. We can only hope that they may shed some light on the future of Sims. Updates to come.
