As Rashid makes his Street Fighter 6 debut in a matter of day, you may need to know a little about the Arabian tornado.
We are not far off from getting the first DLC character for Street Fighter 6. Rashid makes a return to Street Fighter and will make his debut to the latest instalment very soon. This might be a surprise for some, because the game had just released a month ago. It is confirmed that he will arrive as the very first DLC character on July 24, 2023. And it’s only right that you get to know a little about the upcoming character.
Born in the Middle East, but despite his quite lengthy amount of recognition, where he lives specifically is still relatively unknown. Although, it is often speculated that he is from the United Arab Emirates. His first real appearance was in Street Fighter 6’s predecessor, Street Fighter V, as a DLC character and served as one of the main antagonists. Rashid had gotten mixed reactions about from players and some of which wasn’t feeling his acrobatic fighting style.
However, in Street Fighter 6, after watching his gameplay trailer and had gotten to see his moves in the latest instalment, just like the game’s poster child, Luke, Rashid is almost unanimously welcomed by the majority of fans because it wowed us. And some like me has even taken upon us to already claim the Middle Eastern as one of our mains, despite the character making its debut to the game in just under a week.
Now, let’s move over to his super attacks. The level 1 super is the Super Rashid Kick – this move entails unleashing a powerful kick while soaring forward, as well as up in the air. If you you land the initial strike on an opponent that’s grounded, the super’s damage will increase. Level 2 is the Ysaar – that’s allows Rashid to kick out kick out with both legs, in turn creating a huge whirlwind, having your opponent spinning uncontrollably.
Level 3 is the Altair – which will make Rashid spin around and muster a whirlwind that ultimately lifts up your opponent, followed by a series of relentless blows, having them beg for mercy. Furthermore, this move is incredibly versatile because it’s fantastic for combos, reversals and can deal with projectiles. That means, if you’re a Ken, Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile main etc., this spells trouble for you if you’re not careful.
As mentioned, Rashid is the first DLC character to make it to Street Fighter 6, and with what has been shown by Capcom over the last couple of weeks or so, there’s no double that Rashid will be a fan favourite, and it’s fair to say that we cannot wait for the Middle Eastern to arrive.
