One of the greatest weapons in Elden Ring is quite literally sat in a room, simply ready for the taking without needing to fight a single enemy.
Elden Ring is riddled with some incredibly fun weapons. FromSoftware ensured that Elden Ring was populated with unique and interesting weapons and abilities, Whether that is the Moonveil or even something as simple as a flail, almost every weapon in the game feels interesting and fun to use.
One of the best and most interesting weapons in Elden Ring is the Sword of Night and Flame. One of the games Legendary armaments, the Sword of Night and Flame is a straight sword that has some very interesting scaling in that it scales in both Faith and Intelligence attributes. This is due to the fact that the sword has 2 incredibly powerful weapon arts that simply melt away hp and annihilate anything in your path.
In this guide I will show you how to access this incredible weapon and it is surprisingly simple and can be done so from the very start of the game.
Beginning from the Lost grace site above players will be making their way towards the castle seen to the North. that is Caria Manor, but before players can think about accessing the labyrinthine manor, they must first pass by an illusion.
The ruins are infested by ghostly mages that will apparate, attack you with glintstone magic and then vanish once more. Players do not need to kill them, but they need to move quickly. Towards the rear of the ruins is a very large wall. There may be messages in front of it if you’re lucky to give you more of a hint. But yes, this wall is an illusion, either smack it or roll into it and the wall should disappear, leading you to the next lost grace site.
If wished, players are able to talk to Ijii, the giant blacksmith. He is a very interesting NPC and gives players a little bit of insight into Caria Manor before they enter. But speaking to him is while fun, not necessary to access the powerful sword.
After either speaking or not speaking to Iji players have to deal with the next step which can be somewhat complex, even more so if you are doing this at lower levels. Players must head towards the giant manor before them, but as they do so they will be besieged by magic missiles flying down from the sky.
These beams do quite a bit of damage when hit so keep your eyes open. Hug the right side of the walkway towards the cliff edge and on average the barrage will not hit you, as you come closer to the front door is when you must be most careful as the constant hale lasts even when close to the castle walls, you are not safe until you are on Caria Manor’s doorstep and have lit the Lost Grace site.
Once players have lit the Lost Grace site, congratulations, you are in Caria Manor, you’re halfway there now.
For higher level players, the enemies here shouldn’t be too severe, except for the large hands with the ranged attacks. However, for lower level players, this place is a Death Zone. So the best thing to do is to attempt to avoid contact with as many if not all enemies. As soon as you enter Caria Manor Do Not go straight ahead. Though it reaches the same location you will aggro more high intensity enemies increasing your chances in dying atrociously.
Instead take a sharp left and ascend the minor hill, try your best to avoid the large fingers protruding from the ground and if you are lucky and smart, you will not aggro any truly dangerous enemies. Continue to ascend, making a right at the sharp and unjumpable rocks ahead of you. You will eventually find a set of stairs with a giant hand beside it. This is the tricky part.
Run past the giant hand and up the stairs, watch for the hands ranged attack, if you are a lower level, this will no doubt kill you and kill you quickly. Once you have ran up the stairs you are at the home stretch. Head up another set of stairs and you will find yourself at a site of grace.
From this site it is just a little bit further. As you exit the room you will notice that you are on these somewhat heightened bridges that all interconnect. This the last area you must navigate but be cautious as it can be oddly confusing, especially if you forget where you’ve gone etc.
You will run across the first bridge and immediately realise why this is gonna be a little bit harder than it seemed…
Run past these ghosts and make a left turn, running across another bridge to another pillar. Beware if any point on the ground glows with a blue-ish energy, it may explode causing massive damage to anyone standing directly above it. After running across the second bridge you are at the finish line.
As you cross the third bridge now, you will notice a gap in the ground and beside it there is a rampart and a fortification. Leap from the gap and land on the small area beside you. No more enemies spawn here, but just be careful not to undersell the jump.
After the leap there is a short drop to another platform with a gap in the floor. Be careful not from one platform to the other and accidentally fall into the hole, especially with how close you are, you don’t want to die like that.
Once players have descended the ladder, you are there, open the chest and claim your wondrous prize for all of this effort. The Sword of Night and Flame.
One of the weapons that attributed to Elden Ring’s Legendary Armament trophy, The Sword of Night and Flame is also one of the best weapons to be found all across the land’s between.
Unlike most of Elden Ring’s straight swords which scale from dex or strength. The Sword of Night and Flame instead has very different scaling. Elden Ring’s best sword actually scales best from Faith and Intelligence. This is because the weapon has a secret. It has two weapon arts that are phenomenal and will easily carve your way through the game with incredible ease. If you build your character around this weapon, you will be an unstoppable machine of fire and magic.
The weapon arts come in two forms, either a moonbeam or a swathe of fire. True to the magic themes of Elden Ring, these abilities scale from Intelligence and Faith respectively and will allow players to build a rather unique build around this kind of powerful weapon.
First of all is the weapons Flame Stance which covers the battlefield in a full deluge of flame and does massive aoe damage to multiple targets.
The second ability that the weapon has is the Night Stance, in which the player directs a singular beam of night energy at an enemy doing massive damage.
Congrats! You have found one of the legendary armaments of Elden Ring, one of the best weapons in the game and you didn’t have to kill anything to get it.
