Slots are a chance-based type of game that is simple and fun to play. You don’t have to be a gambler to enjoy a good game of slots. If you have a PS, then chances are that you already have another way to dabble in slots. Let’s find out how.
GTA Online
Grant Theft Auto, aka GTA, is one of the most popular game franchises of all time. From its humble beginnings as a gangster-themed action-adventure open-world game to today’s dynamic and ever-evolving online virtual world that can rival the biggest metaverses, it has come a long way.
A prerequisite of creating a virtual world is to allow players to partake in common activities that are not part of the main storyline, such as modding cars or getting the right haircut. So far, Rockstar Games hasn’t disappointed!
In that same spirit, GTA Online also allows players to go to casinos and play mini-games or even bet on horse races. Most prominently, we have the Diamond Casino. You need to pay a $500 membership fee (in-game money, not actual!) to get your initial 5,000 chips. You can also get 1,000 chips daily by just going to the Cashier Services booth.
The casino is situated on the corner of Vinewood Park Drive and Vinewood Boulevard in East Vinewood, right on the site of the Vinewood Casino in the original GTA V game (which played no part in the storyline).
While the gameplay between the newest slots and the GTA casino is different, the underlying principles remain the same – both gambling experiences are arbitrary, fair, and based on luck. So, make sure to practice a lot and build a slots strategy that works for you to make the experience worthwhile.
Fallout: New Vegas
Fallout: New Vegas, being based in Vegas, offers a lot of gambling. Notably, gambling has been a part of the whole franchise and is also a part of Fallout 3, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. Anyway, we’re going to focus on New Vegas.
Almost all the casinos in New Vegas offer slots. Your bets can range from 100 to 200 chips. You will also get the One Armed Bandit achievement if you play ten games of slots.
Players are known to easily make tens of thousands of caps (in-game money) by gambling in the casinos, but you need a lot of time for that. If you’re just interested in slots, we can still assure you that it’s easy to win around 5,000 caps daily from your mini-games.
Keep in mind that if you win too much in the casino, you will be kicked out and won’t be allowed to play! They won’t come after you or anything, but you will need to call it a day.
But there’s a silver lining—Once you reach the point when you can’t gamble anymore, you get a high roller reward. This is typically a private room in the casino and is good for people who need some extra storage space.
Any Other Options?
We recently covered how fun mini-games in famous video games make the gaming experience more exciting. That, however, was a comparison of 10 titles on any platform with any type of mini-game. This time, we narrowed things down to the two best slot mini-games on PlayStation titles.
But if GTA Online and Fallout: New Vegas are not options, you might want to try Yakuza. Yakuza 0 features a simple three-reel slot machine with fruit and BAR symbols.
The latest one, Yakuza: Like a Dragon (Yakuza 7), allows you to play PachiSlot machines. These are a special kind of Japanese slot machines.
Sadly, though gambling is prominently featured in the Western setting of Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, there is no slot machine owing to historical accuracy. If you’re open to it, it’s almost too easy to make large sums of money on your character by playing poker and blackjack, though.
Note that it’s inaccurately said in some places that The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt also has gambling. There is no prominent gambling mechanic in the game, and the Whoreson Junior’s Casino in the city of Novigrad only allows you to play the Gwent card game by forfeiting 200 crowns.
Overall, we understand that not all gamers are looking for a slots-only experience, as it can get quite dull. Luckily, when it comes to PS games, there are limitless options as to what game to indulge in, and of course, browser- or mobile-based options at online casinos are always an option.
